Developers Frangar and Rinnegatamante have shared videos of upcoming PS Vita ports for Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV respectively. This follows multiple native ports to the PS Vita from Android versions of games such as GTA San Andreas, Rockstar’s Bully, Or Battlefield Bad Company 2.
Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV coming to PS Vita through unofficial ports
The PS Vita has pretty much been abandoned by Sony a while ago, but the homebrew scene has been keeping it alive, with homebrew contests such as the KyuHen contest this year, as well as a stream of ports from Rinnegatamante and TheFloW. Recently, Rinnegatamante has released a Vita port of Shadow Warrior, and teased a port of Doom 3 for the portable console.
Yesterday, Frangar and Rinnegatamante both tweeted about upcoming ports of Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV to the PS Vita, with possibly more to come.

These ports are based on the Android versions of the games. TheFloW has confirmed this reuses his .so loader used to port Android versions of Rockstar games so far.
Yet another Android game ported to the vita using my .so loader! https://t.co/aIV9CKcqxL

Final Fantasy on PS Vita – What’s next?
Frangar has hinted that more could come. Many of the FF games are available for Android, so, baring any limitations, it’s possible many of them could be ported to the PS Vita.
For those interested, Rinnegatamante has a list of potential candidates for Android to Vita ports here.
For the time being, let’s just wait for these first two ports and see what these magicians have up their sleeves next 🙂
