It’s been a while since the last “big” GoldHEN release, but PS4 Scene Developer Sistr0 is still alive and well, with GoldHEN 2.4b16.2 released for the PS4 yesterday. This is mostly a bugfix release, following 2.4b15 and 2.4b16 which were released earlier this week. The release before that was 2.4.14, 8 months ago.
My opinion: if you’re on any 2.4 GoldHEN right now, you’ll want to update to 2.4b16.2 (and typically if you’re using some of the public exploit servers out there you’ll get the update transparently), but otherwise, GoldHEN 2.3 remains in my opinion the “stable” version that you actually want to use (unless there are features you badly need in 2.4)
Note: This is also a good time to remind everyone that the latest Jailbreakable PS4 Firmware is 9.00 as of 2024/02/03 (details here). So you’ll need firmware 9.00 or below in order to run GoldHEN. If you see someone claiming they can let you Jailbreak your 11.02 PS4 (or run GoldHEN on it) at the time of this writing, they are lying to you. I’m seeing a rise in dubious Youtube channels claiming they can Jailbreak PS4 11.02, which is a blatant lie. These channels are either after your views for advertising money, or sometimes worse.
What is GoldHEN for PS4?
GoldHEN is a Homebrew ENabler for the PS4, packed with features. For all intents and purposes, you can think of it as a PS4 Custom Firmware. It offers in particular a remote package installer, an FTP Server, and a binLoader, meaning it’s pretty much the only thing you need to load when you Jailbreak your PS4, to have a lot of options at your disposal.
GoldHEN also supports plugins, cheats and patches, with easy access to online repositories for those game mods.

GoldHEN 2.4b16.2 – What’s new?
2.3 was a massive release that added plugin support. 2.4 isn’t such a big change compared to that, but brings its own new features as well. Multi-cheat support is a welcome addition that lets you use alternate cheat files (e.g. by different creators) for the same game. “Multi-firmware support” simply means there is now a single binary for all firmwares, which means you won’t have to scratch your head as to what binary you should be getting.
2.4b15 and 2.4b16, in particular, bring the following changes (from the official changelog):
- Improved plugin loader (Thanks to illusion0001)
- Improved FTP (Thanks to hippie68)
- Added game patch plugin support (Thanks to illusion0001)
- Added game overlay SysInfo (Thanks to OSM)
- Added top GoldHEN supporters page in about section (Thanks to all)
- Fixed IP Address overlay label position issue
Fixed in 2.4b16.2:
- Improved SysInfo stats
- Fixed IP Address setting
As a reminder, 2.4b14 had the following changes:
- Improved plugin loader (Thanks to illusion0001)
- Improved FTP (Thanks to hippie68)
- Improved MC4 support (Thanks to ctn)
- Added cheat description support (Thanks to ctn)
- Added background package installation support
- Added package info on package installation support
- Fixed Orbis Toolbox support
