Hey I’m new here but I’ll leave that for another post. Today I wanted to talk about what seems to be under the works for the 3Ds and it’s many HAX’s. The 3Ds scene has been running for a while now and since the introduction of NINJHAX, the first method of running homebrew on the 3Ds which required the game Cubic Ninja which is still pretty expensive since every time Smea delivers people go out to buy it. Fast Forward to almost a year later and we have all sorts of HAX, the TUBEHAX, IRONHAX, SMASHAX, BROWSERHAX and THEMEHAX (also known as the HomeMenuHax) which don’t really need to be explained. There are many ways to run homebrew on the Old/New 3ds/3dsXL but what is there to come?

Well Smea has been teasing things over on twitter and things are looking interesting. Two of those teases could be especially intriguing for homebrew devs but can have some nice side-effect for end users. So let’s begin, the first thing is the increase in memory the devs will have to play with on the 3ds:

This was one of the most interesting reveals because it brings devs more play room for developing their homebrew and this brings users improved playthings. The following is a goodie specifically for owners of the n3ds and that is the ability to change the CPU clock, in addition to this you can select the Region and Language for games which more than likely applies to the RegionFree Loader.

Remember how you were bragging to your friend that you were playing some emulator or maybe yet3ds on well your 3ds but didn’t have any clear proof; maybe you just found a shiny Pokémon but your friends or people on the internet for those of us lacking in the friend’s department didn’t believe you? Well say goodbye to this since one of the other features headed our way is screenshot support! 😀

Like the PS Vita the 3ds also gets it’s share of system stability improvements, but in the 3ds case they actually do improve things and one major example is that with each release comes better and wider support for out of region games, newer firmware’s oh and more importantly is that now you will be able to exit from RegionFree to HBL which is very nice.

Finally, we have something a little interesting, that is well, you know what the tease speaks for itself:

3ds_r5_release_5

There is no news on when we can expect this new update and as such we should be prepared to see more goodies introduced along the way. I am pretty excited with all the little teases

myself and continue to look forward as the scene continues to grow, I also might look into getting a n3ds if it continues to get better goodies than o3ds.
