Both ds3vita and ds4vita are PSVita plugins that work with taiHEN. As the name suggests, ds3vita works with official PS3 controllers (DualShock 3) and ds4vita works with PS4 controllers (DualShock 4). Both controls can be used out of the box with the PSTV/Vita TV but Sony didn’t like Vita users using them but developer ‘xerpi’ thought otherwise!
What’s changed in ds3vita?
ds3vita is updated to beta 2 and the update has ironed out some issues. This is what changed in beta 2:
- You may now use analogue sticks in PS4 Remote Play
- L2/R2 and L3/R3 support has been improved
- The analogue deadzone is now reduced to ‘3’
The changes are there to ensure a better experience and above all, proper PS4 remote play with your DS3.
What’s changed in ds4vita?
ds4vita is updated to version 1.1 and the update, like ds3vita, has ironed some issues for a better user experience. This is what changed in version 1.1:
- PS4 Remote Play now works properly (analogues now work)
- L2/R2 and L3/R3 support has been improved
- The analogue deadzone is now reduced to ‘3’
- Only the front touchscreen is overridden now
As with ds3vita, the changes are there for a better experience and improved PS4 remote play compatibility.
How to install?
Step by step instructions are provided in the links below and are pretty straightforward. Of course, you need the following to use the plugins:
- A PSVita with 3.60 and taiHEN enabled (you must also enable Bluetooth)
- A DualShock 3/4 controller (depending on the plugin you’re using)
