The GekiHEN competition has ended and we the sponsors have added our votes to the community ones. The results are now in.

There were lots of good entries for this competition, with a total of $850 in cash prizes (from sponsors psx-place.com, playstationhax.xyz, customprotocol.com, and wololo.net). There were a few close calls but in general some clear winners made it through. For the sponsors’ votes, we tried to respect the overall community decisions, while helping with categories that did not have an obvious number 1*. As for all competitions, the winners were not the only good entries, there were lots of great homebrews so I strongly suggest people to check all entries on the GekiHEN site.

Without further ado, the winners in each category:

Project Void aims to be a space opera focused on dogfights. The way you build your spaceship using different modules such as engines, canons and so on, will impact the momentum and the whole physics that will make your ship move and react. Any module will have independent resistance and destroying a module will affect the physics of the ship until you repair it. Project void is a work in progress

Vita Homebrew Browser is a homebrew store for the PS Vita. Find Homebrews; download them; launch them. The size of your memory card is the only limit!

ZeldaROTH is a Vita port of the Zelda fan game: The legend of Zelda : Return of the Hylian, made by Vincent Jouillat (http://www.zeldaroth.fr)

GekiHEN – What’s next?

We’re still ironing things out with the other sponsors to send the payments (when you have 4 different sources for the money, there’s some amount of synchronization required), but the winners should receive their prizes shortly.

It’s been an honor to be a sponsor for this competition, I do hope more and more people create original homebrews for the PS Vita!

* You can see a detailed rundown of how the votes happened on psx-place. In general we the sponsors have tried very hard to respect the community choices: in most categories the final winner was either #1 or #2 from the community aggregated votes.
