Developer Bisoon has released PS4Lib, a Windows library that lets you send Messages to your PS4. The tool ships with a Demo GUI which, among other things, lets you send notifications to your PS4. Operating PS4Lib and its demo requires a hacked PS4 4.05.
In itself, the “Notifications” part of the demo is only an interesting gimmick to play with, but once more homebrews are made for the PS4, this library could be a useful addition to any remote-based system that can interact with the PS4. It would be fun to plug the PS4 with your calendar, and get notifications of upcoming birthdays or events directly on your PS4 screen
Download PS4Lib and run the Demo
Only the source is available on the project’s github, so you’ll have to compile from source.
Once you have the demo compiled and running: In order for the communication to work with the PS4, you’ll need to run Bisoon’s PS4API.bin payload (we explain how to run payloads on your hacked PS4 here). PS4Lib’s readme gives more details.
Note: I have heard of other releases leveraging Bisoon’s API to pretty much do the same thing as what his Demo GUI does. I am not sure about the value of such releases and why some sites think they are newsworthy. Of course, if someone can show me how I’m wrong, I’ll gladly post about those too.
