Developer Yellows8 has released version 2.0.0 of the Switch Homebrew Launcher, now known as Homebrew Menu. This new release includes in particular a new GUI, courtesy of rakuzira, adubbz and maufeat.
The Switch Homebrew Menu is available for owners of Switch Firmware 3.0.0. (People on a lower firmware can update with the Pokken Tournament DX cartridge. People on a higher firmware… will have to wait).
The full changelog:
- Major GUI update.
- The used theme is now selected via the current system theme.
- Files/directories starting with name ‘.’ are now ignored.
- Args are now handled properly.
- If {dirname}/{dirname}.nro is not found, the NRO found via dir-listing will be used instead, if there’s only 1 NRO in the directory. This only applies for paths located under “sdmc:/switch/”.
The team behind the launcher have set up a wiki to list existing homebrews.
The list is sparse for now, but Plutoo has showcased a few homebrews running on the Switch, which are not in the wiki yet, including easyrpg player (video below). The gbatemp forums might be a good resource to get homebrews that are not found on the Switchbrew wiki.
The Switch scene is in its very early stage so it’s actually pretty impressive to see ports and homebrews being released so fast.
