If you’ve been following the scene for the last couple of months, then you’d know that a GTA Vice City port for the Vita has been in the works for quite a while. However, work on it couldn’t continue until the engine underlying was complete but thanks to efforts by the folks behind re3, the engine is done and GTA Vice City can now be played on the Vita!
The PSVita’s GTA Vice City port by Rinnegatamante & TheFlow

You can now play GTA Vice City on your Vita thanks to work by the re3/reVC folks, Rinnegatamante and TheFlow among others!
Released earlier today, Grand Theft Auto Vice City is the 2nd 3D Grand Theft Auto title that has been ported to the Vita by the homebrew community following a GTA III port that came out in October. For those who aren’t too knowledgeable on the GTA series, Vice City is the 4th installment in the main series after GTA III and as a result, it uses an engine similar to its predecessor but with some changes and improvements thrown into the mix. As a result, the re3 folks were able to successfully reverse its engine as well despite focus originally being on Grand Theft Auto III.
Moving over to the PlayStation Vita’s port, it is based on the open-source re3-miami/reVC project which is a re-implementation of GTA: VC’s game engine by the same people behind re3. When it comes to the Vita’s port, the developers behind it were primarily Rinnegatamante and TheFlow who also brought GTA III to the console. Going by game-play videos online, the port seems to run pretty well with a frame-rate close to 30FPS being maintained most of the time meaning that a totally playable experience similar to that of the GTA III port is offered although it is noted that a lot of smoke can cause FPS dips. Another similarity shared with the GTA III port is that GTA VC for the Vita also requires you to supply your own game files as the game is not a free title and these may be bought on Steam or other services.
