PS5 Release: FTPS5 1.2 (FTP Server)

Developer Echo Stretch has pushed an update to the PS5 FTP Server payload, bringing it to version 1.2. It’s based on the same code that’s been using since the PS4 days, more specifically it’s a fork of Sistr0’s release from October.

Sistr0 has also updated his version by merging back this change, so whether you use Echo Stretch’s release or Sistr0’s release, you should be good.

What’s FTPS5

FTPS5 is an FTP Server for your hacked PS5. It allows you to browse, copy, and modify the content of your PS5’s hard drive from the comfort of your own PC.

This particular variant is designed so that closing Webkit won’t kill the FTP process. Meaning you can navigate away from the Web browser after loading the FTP Server.

Important: Persistent here means the FTP server runs even if you close the Web Browser. It does not mean the FTP Server (or the exploit) will survive a reboot. You’ll have to run the exploit again after a reboot!

Sistr0 notes however that you will get a kernel panic when shutting down the PS5, which doesn’t happen with the non-persistent version of the FTP server. Pick your poison?

FTPS5 1.2 – What’s new

This update fixes the file size for larger files. (Also finally replaced some old mentions of “PS4” to “PS5”).

Echo Stretch Credits Sistr0, Kameleon, and Illusion for the help.

As a reminder, you will need a hacked PS5 to run the exploit. We have a few hints here on where to buy one.
