SiSTR0‘s latest GoldHEN Beta has been released on ko-fi. New version 2.2.5b8 brings an interesting feature for retro game enthusiasts, and more. This follows 2.2.5b7 last month which introduced the possibility to load game patches at runtime.
What is GoldHEN for PS4?
GoldHEN is a Homebrew ENabler for the PS4, packed with features. For all intents and purposes, you can think of it as a PS4 Custom Firmware. It offers in particular a remote package installer, an FTP Server, and a binLoader, meaning it’s pretty much the only thing you need to load when you Jailbreak your PS4, to have a lot of options at your disposal.
GoldHEN also supports cheats and patches, with easy access to online repositories for those game mods.

Warnings:
The BinLoader server is in an experimental phase but in any case there are several payloads around, some even not very well done, which can also be harmful and in the best case only crash the console. So use it with caution.
The Cheat Menu is experimental, use with caution. Please report cheat related issues to the cheat author(s).
GoldHEN 2.2.5b8 – What’s new
- Added Scanlines overlay
- Added Game Debug Settings menu
These new features are certainly not as groundbreaking as last month’s added possibility to load patches at runtime, but they’re still fun additions. The scanlines are a gimmick (to make a retro game look like it’s running on an old CRT screen), but I’m sure we’ll all want to try the feature at least once

Important: you need a PS4 that can be jailbroken in order to use this tool. At the time of this writing, this means a PS4 running Firmware 9.00 or lower. See our PS4 Jailbreak page for details.
