Yet again, Rinnegatamante has something in store for us; 2 things actually. TurboPad and WDNR are two separate plugins that deal with the controls on the PSVita in order to give you a more customisable experience à la the PSP. Turbo fire is always nice when games require you to mash buttons..
What’s WDNR?
The plugin name is an abbreviation that stands for “We Don’t Need Reartouch”. As the abbreviation suggests, it’s a plugin that disables the rear touch functionality of the PSVita. Now, you may be thinking “Some games require rear touch” but it’s not a big problem; you can disable rear touch in some games or simply disable the plugin. This plugin will help you avoid accidental input from the somewhat odd rear touch pad that we won’t really shed many tears for.
What’s TurboPad?
As the name suggests, it’s a plugin that makes a button of your choice be pressed rapidly. To set the buttons, you simply need to press ‘START+TRIANGLE’ while in game and use the menu from there. Buttons conifgurations aren’t yet saved but Rinnegatamante is working on it. There are various settings you can set for buttons so make sure you understand them. Not all games may work with some settings! Check out the Wololo page at the bottom of this article for more info!
Conclusion
Plugins were a tad sidelined until not long ago but fortunately, quite a few cool ones are surfacing. To install plugins, simply add them to taiHEN’s config files. Make sure you know what you’re doing as these plugins aren’t yet very refined so bugs may expected. Report any issues to Rinnegatamante via the GitHub project page for the respective homebrew. Have fun messing around!
