Numpty Physics released for PSVita

Yet another port by the infamous developer Rinnegatamante. This homebrew originated on the PSP by developer ‘rock88’ and was later ported to Rejuvenate by ‘meetpatty’. As anybody who has not been living under a rock knows, Rejuvinate binaries aren’t directly compatible with HENkaku but they can be made to run with some work.

What’s Numpty Physics?

The game is a drawing puzzle game in which you have to come up with creative solutions and witness them in real-time (which is the whole point of Physics-based games). Numpty Physics is based on the style of the Box2D engine.

Numpty Physics

Currently, the game is a 1:1 port from the Rejuvinate port but that won’t be the case for long. Rinnegatamante plans to add various features such as:

  • Background music playback
  • Touch support

This port also contains some bug fixes over the original game. Controls are pretty simple and they’re clearly described in the link below. While this game may seem a tad odd at first, Physics games tend to be mildly amusing and good to play for a short amount of time in my opinion 😉 Just don’t overdo it or else it’ll become boring!

How to get it?

This game requires you to download seperate data files so installation is a little different. Firstly, you have to download the VPK and then get the data files. After that, copy the VPK to your Vita, extract the data files (which should be in a folder called ‘Numpty Physics’) and put them in ux0:data; after that simply install the VPK. This homebrew is also available vis VitaDB thus you can install it via Vita Homebrew Browser directly. Make sure you report any issues in a civil fashion to Rinnegatamante on the GitHub page or Wololo Post linked below!
